1. Love
Love was an emotion that Yin was more open to than Yang, mostly because Yin was also easier to get along with, while Yang preferred to keep to himself.
2. Hate
Yang wouldn't really say that he "hated" Derek, he just wished that the bastard would fall into an open pit and die.
3. Rain
Derek loved the rain and often stood out in it during a down pour. Yang thought this was completely ridiculous.
4. Fear
Having to share one body between two souls was a little frightening. Yin and Yang had been together since birth and the thought that one day one of them could disappear was terrifying.
5. Empty
For Yin, the glass was half full, for Yang, half empty, and for Derek, it was half full except on Monday's.

D: "If you ever fall, I'll catch you, okay?"
YA: "I don't fall."
D: "I know, I'm just throwing that out there. You know, just in case."

The easiest way to tell the two souls apart was by which eye was open. If it was the blue eye on the left side, Yin was the one controlling the body. If it was the yellow one on the right, Yang was in control. If both eyes were open, it was impossible to tell who was in control until they said something.

Yang didn't like being close to anyone, physically or emotionally. The only person he cared about was Yin and that's how he wanted it to stay, but Derek was freaking ruining it.

For Derek, the climb to success had been short and sweet. He'd gotten to the top within a few short years and was having a great time where he was. His downfall, however, looked like a twenty year old boy, hair half white and half black, one blue eye and one yellow eye, who seemed to be bipolar and talked to himself a lot.

Yin was like water; soft, gentle and beautiful but dangerous if upset. Yang was like fire; safe to view from a distance but would burn if you ventured too close.

Yin didn't deal with pain well, so Yang often took over if he was injured or if someone was picking in them for their odd looks. In the latter's case, the other person was the one who was going to feel the pain.
14. Pleasure
Derek's guilty pleasure was watching the two talk to each other. They were able to easily go about with whatever they were doing smoothly while switching control back and forth seamlessly. Anyone else who viewed them would quickly assume it was one person talking to himself.

Yin smiled often and it was always a lovely sight. Yang didn't smile as much and when he did it was usually small, but Derek loved it none the less.

When Yin cried, Yang would allow Derek to hold him, if only because Yang could not physically comfort his other half himself.

Yang's scythe was not a toy. Too many often realized this too late.

Derek was happiest when Yang was happy. If Yang was happy, then Yin could curl up on the couch next to Derek and they could all watch TV together.

Being two people in one body left a bit of a mental scar. Yin could not function without Yang and Yang was very overprotective of Yin.

If Yin was the angel, then Yang was the demon, and Derek was just a measly human that had fallen in love with both.

Being a musician in a successful band had allowed Derek to write all sorts of songs. His most recent inspiration was his new boyfriend and he found it was very difficult to write a song that discribed him exactly.

Yin and Yang always had been and always would be chained together. This was fine with them though, they'd learned how to move together.

Dancing wasn't something Yang was into. He had to agree, however, when one of Derek's band's songs came on the radio and the blonde man offered him his hand.

Yin was like the night; soft, quiet, feminine and a little mysterious.

Yang was like the day; harsh, loud, strong and hot-tempered.

Derek knew he was a fool for trying to love two people at the same time, even though they were physically one person, and especially since one of them didn't seem to like him in the least.

In the darkness of the bedroom, Derek would whisper lovely things to the smaller body next to him. Yin would often whisper them back, but, very rarely, Yang's voice would be the one replying with something nice.

When Yang got angry he would shout, yell and throw a loud fit. One day, when Derek told him that was childish, he was promptly kicked out of the house and not allowed back in for three days.
29. Paralyzed
Sometimes when Yang would stare at him, Derek would become paralyzed at the look in his eyes. It would only last a few seconds before completely disappearing and being replaced with annoyance, but Derek knew it was there. He never knew if it was good or bad though.

Yin was soft and easy to break. Yang, however, was like diamond. For Yin's sake, he swore he would never break.
31. Stuck
Yin and Yang never considered themselves stuck together. Fate had simply decided they were meant to be together, and that was fine with them.

Yang had a habit of swinging at anyone who touched him. It was a habit that Derek was determined to break.

Yin was a good listener. If you had a problem, he would sit quietly, listen to the whole story and help you as best he could. Yang was also a good listener, but wasn't much for helping if you had a problem.

Yang had become numb to many things early in life. Pain, empathy and love had been just a few. Derek, however, seemed to be the cure to the numbness and Yang hated it.

When they were small, Yin liked to pretend that his shadow was Yang's physical form; always following him close by and watching over him.

When it came to Yin and Yang, Derek's life was never routine. In the mornings he could wake up one of two ways; to a gentle kiss and a loving smile, or a hard floor and a harsh voice demanding breakfast.

Up until he was ten, Yang was afraid to bleed. He was terrified of the thought that their blood might be different from everyone elses, so he did everything he could to keep them out of harm's way. Then one day he tripped and scrapped his knee and began to bleed. He saw that it was red and suddenly he wasn't scared anymore.

Derek always received dozens of Valentines from women "head over heels" in love with him, but he only ever bought two Valentine's day gifts; a simple white rose for Yang and a white and pink teddy bear for Yin.

He knew it was incredibly childish, but sometimes Derek would take a piece of a puzzle that Yang was working on and hide it so that later when Yang needed it, Derek could "find it" and Yang would be just a little bit thankful for his existence.
40. Lullaby
Derek loved it when Yin would sing him a lullaby some nights.
41. Crush
Yang didn't know when hatred had turned into a crush, but he wasn't happy about it. Then again, that would probably change soon too.
42. Curse
Their being together forever was not a curse, but a gift. Two people could not possibly be closer than Yin and Yang.

Yin loved the moon. It was big and beautiful and lit up the night with the soft touch of a mother.

1. Love
Ashton was almost positive that Curtis could not feel love. The only thing that made him think that maybe the smaller man could was when Curtis would panic if Ashton stayed out too long.
2. Hate
Hate was not an emotion Curtis was familiar with. He was always grinning, always happy, because he was just too crazy to stay in touch with anything around him most times.

Ashton didn't care much for rain. He did find a little amusement, however, in watching Curtis just stand in it and laugh like the madman he was.
