1. Memory
Cadick couldn't remember a time when he'd actually been happy before meeting Oliver. Most of his memories before then consisted of a neglectful mother, a drunken father and years of verbal abuse full of threats of physical harm if he ever so much as touched another male.
2. Rain
One of the things Oliver hated most was rain. It made everything wet and always turned Cadick into more of a moody, unbearable, pain in the ass than he already was.
3. Disturbed
Cadick always put on a strong front coupled with an 'I'm better than you so don't talk to me' attitude, so it was no big surprise that when he and Oliver shared a bed for the first time, Oliver was a little disturbed to learn that Cadick liked to cuddle in his sleep.
4. Slipping
There were times that Cadick would be slipping into sleep and he would feel hands running through his hair, but he would never tell Oliver how much he liked that.
5. Collapse
O: "Ugh, I'm so tired I could collapse!"
C: "Don't. I'm not carrying your sorry ass."
O: "Thanks babe, I love you too."
6. Hire
C: "I need something to do."
O: "I'll hire you to please me the rest of the week."
C: "And now I'm firing you as my boyfriend. Get the fuck out."
7. Echo
Cadick wasn't much for having fun, nor did he enjoy childish things, but he did kind of find it amusing when Oliver and Baltimore were having so much fun making echos in a large, empty room.
8. Bright
Oliver knew he as a pretty bright man. He understood a lot of things in life, like politics, the human mind, and pretty much anything ending in -ology, but he also knew he paled in comparison to how bright Cadick could be.
9. Grandmother
Cadick had never met Oliver and Baltimore's grandmother, but he did like listening to stories about her when he and Oliver were laying in bed at night.
10. Skull
O: "I bet you have a beautiful skull."
C: "What the fuck was that?"
O: "Hell if I know, I thought you'd appreciate it. Kind of makes me sound smart, huh?"
C: "Hm... Well, I'm sure your hyoid bone is just lovely."
O: "My what?"
C: "Yeah, that's what I thought."
11. Property
Cadick was no one's property; Oliver knew this. But sometimes, late at night when they were deep in passion, little comments like "you're fucking mine" would fall from Oliver's lips before he could stop them, and he was always thankful that Cadick never really seemed to notice.
12. Inaccuracy
O: "The thermometer says you have a temp. of 103."
C: "Well, that's completely inaccurate."
O: "Yeah, you're probably right. I'll start worrying when you start using small words."
13. Lock
There were several locks around Cadick's heart. He'd been adding them periodically since he was ten and never let anyone get too close for fear of getting hurt. Oliver, however, seemed to have a key to every one.
14. Politeness
Cadick had always made an effort to be polite and respectful to those who were several years older or in a higher ranked position than himself. This usually insured his easy movement through the social ladder. The first time he and Oliver met, he had immediately been rude and hateful, even though Oliver was not only older than himself, but he was also a diplomat's son. Still, the red head ended up becoming closer to the blonde than he had anyone else.
15. Sailing
"I can't believe I agreed to this." Cadick groaned as the sailboat shifted with the waves. He took a deep breath and moved closer to Oliver, who smirked and threw an arm over his shoulder's, "Don't worry, babe, I won't let the big bad water get you."
"Fuck you. This never leaves the boat."
"Of course not."
16. Moment
Their time together was made up of moments. Some moments, Cadick was hateful and stuck-up and refused to have fun. Other times, the red head would be more relaxed and willing to go along with Oliver's whims. The blonde's favorite moments, however, were the ones after their love-making when Cadick was calm and uncaring of what others might think of him and would allow Oliver to stroke his hair and hold him close with no complaints.
17. Individual
Throughout his life, Cadick always saw himself as the individual and everyone else as a group of people that would only hurt him in the end. The first time Oliver kissed him, Cadick realized he wasn't the only individual.
18. Adult
There are many reasons children and teens want to become adults. For Cadick, it was to break free from his father's tyranny. For Oliver, it was the freedom to make his own bad decisions. When they met and began dating, it became the freedom to be together without worrying about parents trying to separate them.
19. Wisdom
Oliver always thought that Cadick was sort of like a 50 year old trapped in a 23 year old's body. He was quick witted, had a sharp tongue and wasn't afraid to speak his mind, but he was also incredibly wise and you were bound to learn something from him, regardless of the conversation.
20. Rejection
Rejection was something Cadick dealt with often throughout his life. His father didn't want him, he'd been picked on in school for his intelligence, cleanliness and girlish behaviorism's (the bullying resulting in him later developing a bad reaction to the word "fag" in which he'd hurt anyone who dare call him such a thing), people avoided him and he never allowed himself close to anyone. So he found it odd that whenever he'd admit something to Oliver that he would never tell anyone else, his boyfriend would just smile and accept it and they would move on with their lives.
